Created after the great eruption of the Cotacachi volcano more than 3000 years ago.
Translated as “Guinea Pig Lake”, its name comes from the local belief that the largest island resembles a guinea pig.
Located less than an hour from Otavalo, it offers a delicious complement based on nature.
The complete tour is 14 kilometers.
Departure on the bus from Otavalo is around 8:30 a.m. m. and we return to the city at 4:00 p.m. m. The walk takes just over four hours, which includes many stops to take pictures and enjoy beautiful nature.
